An exhibition exploring the idea of community, collective living and shared environments.

This is Denise’s second artist residency exhibition at The Frances Bardsley School. The show consists of a collection of work looking at the ideas of community and shared environments.

In this collection of work we see groupings and the organisation of objects made by the artist which ask us to consider the roles of the individual and the community.

This body of work continues Denise’s exploration of traditional feminine techniques and the implications surrounding domesticity. The work is created with discarded household materials and textiles and is constructed using sewing, knitting and appliqué. The work offers a variety of aesthetic approaches but the concepts of creation, ordering and sharing are present in every piece.

The exhibition will run from 19th March to 2nd April 9.30-12.30 and 13.30-4.30 Monday to Friday The artist will be available for artists talks to individuals and groups. It is necessary to confirm Denise’s availability in advance.

The launch party will take place on Thursday 18th March from 6:00 to 9:00pm. This is a free event and all are welcome.
