Profile - Born in 1969, in Winchester, of Russian father, British mother. Katie studied Social Anthropology (2:1) at Sussex University (1989-1992) before returning to her Art studies at Northbrook College, Worthing (Foundation 1994-6 and HND 1999-2002, achieving distinction in both)

Since the birth of her daughter in 2007 Katie has dramatically increased her artistic output, and found a new lease of energy and confidence. Also a qualified, experienced and inspiring teacher for some years. Art practice includes painting, drawing, installation, writing, poetry, performance, and photography; working on her own as well as with groups for specific projects. She has been a member of the London Biennale Artists’ group since 2000, organising an annual art event/picnic on Brighton Beach called Longshore Drift.

Currently teaching art on a freelance basis, primarily with Emily Ball (since 1997) at Seawhite Studio, Partridge Green; running her own drawing course called the Liquid Line. Also Art at Sussex University as an Associate Teacher with CCE. Visiting tutor at Northbrook College of Art and Design, Worthing. Occasional painting workshops in English Vineyards in Sussex and Kent.

Previously employed at Eastbourne College of Art; art tutor at Brighton Museum; occasional workshops at the Paddock Studio, Lewes. Teacher of yoga. Front of House Manager at Gardner Arts Centre. Gallery Assistant at Fabrica, Brighton, 1996-7
