Suza Ward

Suza Ward
painter

Suza Ward is an artist working in several disciplines. Following her studies in painting and printmaking at London's City Literary Institute and Morley College, she pursued new creative avenues making stained glass panels at the Glasgow School of Art. Just as the defining figures in mod culture of the 1960s took their cue from an art movement of an earlier age – in their case the Italian Futurists who flourished in the first part of the 20th century – so Suza has incorporated her interest in mod fashion into her oeuvre without succumbing to a retro feel within the work.

Her style is strong on precise detail, telling much about the personality of the subject, mixed with subtle expressions, showing the artist’s interest in pop art as strongly as her images display her inclination towards photorealism.
