Jonet Harley-Peters
Jonet Harley-Peters
visual artist specialising in photo constructions and mixed media.
Jonet Harley-Peters is a London based photographer who creates imagery through constructed photographic material. Since the 1980s and 1990s, Jonet began creating colour based geometric work, a classical constructivist method using a collage materials-based method, which later developed into the constructed photographic style of imagery she produces today. Using three main materials- photography, raw pigment and pastel on paper- the artist cuts, collages and layers, creating 2D and 3D effects on paper. Jonet concentrates on making images of subjects taken different points of view, using varying light, shadow and contrast. In the cutting and breaking up of image into geometric form the artist explores rhythm repetition and pattern, this being the basic underlying structure of all physical matter.
